HYDERABAD, Dec 26 (APP): Vice Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam Dr Altaf Ali Siyal on Friday said that universities were facing serious financial and administrative challenges in the present era, which require innovation, effective planning and collective efforts from all stakeholders.
Addressing a dinner hosted by the SAU Officers Association in his honor on the approval of his four-year tenure as Vice Chancellor, Dr Altaf Siyal emphasized that promoting modern academic practices and research aligned with international standards was essential for academic excellence and institutional sustainability.
The vice chancellor acknowledged that SAU was confronted with financial constraints, but stressed the need to initiate new projects and strengthen internal resource generation. He said that strategic planning in line with administrative and human resource requirements was necessary to enhance the university’s efficiency and overall performance.
Highlighting the role of officers, Dr Siyal said that their contribution was crucial to the university’s development, adding that progress could not be achieved without joint efforts. He expressed confidence that with close cooperation among officers, faculty members and other stakeholders, SAU would continue to move forward on the path of progress.
He also reiterated his commitment to provide quality teaching facilities for students, expanding modern research opportunities, linking education with employment prospects, facilitating access to higher education at international institutions and strengthening global academic collaborations.
Speaking on the occasion, SAU Officers Association President Anwar Hussain Khanzada congratulated Dr Siyal on the extension of his tenure and assured him of the association’s full cooperation with the university administration to improve administrative efficiency. He also highlighted issues faced by officers and expressed hope that these would be addressed on a priority basis under the current leadership.
Association Secretary Muhammad Ashraf Rustmani said that officers would continue to perform their duties with dedication for the development of the university. He emphasized that constructive cooperation with the administration would be maintained to resolve officers’ issues, improve the service structure and promote a professional working environment.
The event was attended by deans, heads of academic and administrative departments and office-bearers of the SAU Officers Association.
