LAHORE, Dec 25 (APP): Provincial Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin on Thursday extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community and cut a Christmas cake along with them.
Special prayers were also offered on the occasion for the security and stability of the country.
Speaking to the gathering, the provincial minister said that the role of the Christian community in the development of Pakistan was prominent and unforgettable.
He stated that safeguarding the rights of minorities in every walk of life was a national responsibility and that Pakistan Muslim League (N) was a guarantor of the protection of minority rights.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, members of the Christian community expressed their gratitude to the provincial minister for sharing in their celebrations.
In a separate message on the birth anniversary of the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Bilal Yasin said, “December 25 is a day to renew commitment to the thoughts and message of Quaid-e-Azam.”
He said the nation must reaffirm its resolve to shape their lives in accordance with the principles of faith, unity and discipline.
He added that through honesty and continuous struggle, Quaid-i-Azam secured Pakistan’s place on the global horizon.
The provincial minister paid rich tribute to the peaceful and revolutionary services of the Founder of Pakistan and said that sustainable political vision had now become essential to make Quaid’s Pakistan great.
He added that the Christian community also stood shoulder to shoulder with Quaid-i-Azam during the struggle for the creation of Pakistan.
