KARACHI, Dec 25 (APP): Hamdard University has decided to set up an Incubation Centre of its own, where promising business ideas would be converted into start-ups. This was announced by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Imran Amin while addressing at the concluding ceremony of Future Fusion Fest 2025 — a two-day event where senior engineering and computing students unveiled their final-year projects.
He stated that every prototype presented represented a viable business idea with the potential not only to transform its proponent into a successful entrepreneur but also to make them an employer of other talented students.
“Hamdard University will help its students as well as its youngish faculty members set up companies. He urged the future engineers and technologists to make the best use of social media platforms like YouTube to sell their products and ideas. “If you can work full time on your project well and good. But if you have to get a job immediately after graduation, do so. But work for two hours each day on your own project.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Prof Dr Aamer Saleem, said the future is not something for which budding engineers should wait. Instead they should dash towards it.
He thanked the volunteers, and his staff and faculty members for organizing an event that “went like clockwork”.
The president of TeknoFest, Abid Siddiqui, said his nonprofit company was the brainchild of a dozen or so like-minded people who wanted to bring about an improvement in the economic situation obtaining in the country.
The event arranged at Hamdard University was his organisation’s tenth such event. The winners of this event, and those in the past, would vie for top honours at a city-wide or province-wide megaevent that would take place in a few months at the Expo Centre, Karachi.
