Chief Minister meets doctors on healthcare reforms

PESHAWAR, Dec 24 (APP): A high-level delegation of the Insaf Doctors Forum called on Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, and held detailed discussions on measures to improve the healthcare sector in the province.
During the meeting, the current capacity of beds and medical facilities in government hospitals, along with future healthcare requirements, was reviewed. The Chief Minister welcomed the delegation’s commitment to establishing a state-of-the-art medical complex comprising 5,000 beds.
Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi stated that the provincial government is giving top priority to the health and education sectors in line with the vision of Imran Khan.
He emphasized that providing quality healthcare facilities to the public is a fundamental responsibility of the government.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to convene a review meeting regarding the rehabilitation of District Headquarter Hospitals, stressing that the provision of quality medical treatment at the local level remains the government’s foremost priority.
He further remarked that all stakeholders must work collectively to translate party’s vision into reality. Highlighting the role of professionals, the Chief Minister said that doctors and teachers are vital pillars of society and that doctors, in particular, serve as healers, with public health being a sacred trust.
