PESHAWAR, Dec 24 (APP): Foolproof security arrangements have been completed in Peshawar on the occasion of Christmas.
A total of 243 religious events are being held at 53 churches with three layer security and more than 2000 police personnel deployed.
Walk through gates bomb disposal units sniffer dogs and special patrols have been put in place. Peshawar Police remain fully committed to maintaining peace and order.
Mock exercises were conducted at churches under the leadership of SP Cantt Division Abdullah Ehsan. Police personnel have been directed to remain alert and strictly follow SOPs.
An important meeting regarding Christmas and new year night security was held under the chairmanship of CCPO Peshawar Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed. Strict security measures have been implemented at churches and Christian localities to ensure the safety of the minority community.
