SARGODHA, Dec 24 (APP):Additional Medical Superintendent (AMS) Dr Nayyar Abbas said on Wednesday that several major initiatives are being taken at to improve healthcare facilities for the public.
Talking exclusively to Associated Press of Pakistan, he said that with the addition of a new building at Government Mola Bakhsh Hospital, the number of beds in the gynecology ward has increased from 731 to 800.
Dr Nayyar Abbas said that on a daily basis, 60 to 70 surgeries were being performed at Dr Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital, reflecting the heavy patient load and active surgical services.
He said that within the next two weeks, a second new CT scan machine would be installed to further facilitate patients and reduce waiting time.
The AMS Dr Nayyar Abbas said that around 60 patients undergo dialysis daily in the dialysis ward, which is operating in four shifts.
The Additional Medical Superintendent said that a new ICU ward comprising 12 beds is under construction, while the existing ICU currently has six beds.
He further said that the neurosurgery department would soon start services for outdoor patients.
The hospital’s emergency ward currently has 26 beds, while work on a new emergency ward will also begin shortly to enhance emergency care services, he added.
