SARGODHA, Dec 23 (APP): Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan said that the Christian community has played a significant role in the country’s development and that their services in civic affairs are highly commendable.
He expressed these views during a Christmas cake cutting ceremony organized by
the Municipal Corporation here on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Waseem, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Majid Bin
Ahmed, Municipal Officer Regulation Zoya Baloch and other officers were also present.
The commissioner emphasized that the Punjab government attaches equal importance to the rights, dignity and happiness of minority communities. “We are all Pakistanis, and our joys are shared. ‘A strong and prosperous society can only be built through unity and mutual respect,”
he added.
A special luncheon was arranged for Christian workers during the ceremony, while children
were given gifts and sweets in connection with Christmas.
