ICT Police put two dacoits in handcuffs; looted cash, mobiles recovered

ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested two members of an organised robbery gang involved in multiple street crime incidents and recovered looted cash, expensive mobile phones and weapons with ammunition.
An official told APP on Tuesday that Khanna Police Station team conducted a targeted operation and arrested the two suspects wanted in several robbery cases. The arrested dacoits were identified as Hammad Khan and Waqas Khan.
During the operation, police recovered snatched cash, valuable mobile phones and weapons used in the crimes, along with ammunition, from their possession. Cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
During initial interrogation, the arrested dacoits confessed to committing multiple robbery incidents in the jurisdiction of Khanna police station and adjoining areas, the official said.
He added that on the special directions of DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, Islamabad Police have launched a large-scale crackdown against dacoity, street crime and other serious offences across the federal capital, which has led to a noticeable decline in such crimes.
Police have been directed to continue indiscriminate action against criminals, depriving citizens of their valuable assets.
