ICT Police focus on human rights, cyber security in advanced training at Capital Police College

ISLAMABAD, Dec 22 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police continued their focus on professional capacity-building as multiple expert-led sessions were held during an ongoing advanced training course at the Capital Police College, Islamabad.
An official told APP on Monday that officers attending the course were given a detailed lecture by Professor Dr Aziz ur Rehman from Quaid-e-Azam University on human rights, women’s rights and child protection. He highlighted the constitutional and legal responsibilities of police officers, stressing the need to safeguard vulnerable segments of society with sensitivity and professionalism.

During the same course, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Shehzad Town Inzimam Khan delivered a comprehensive lecture on security and intelligence. He discussed emerging security challenges and emphasized the effective use of intelligence in maintaining law and order.

The training programme also included a specialised session on cyber security and digital forensics. Islamabad Police cyber security expert Taimoor briefed officers on modern technology, cybercrime investigation techniques and the proper handling of digital evidence, aiming to enhance police response to technology-based crimes.

The three-day course is designed to strengthen officers’ understanding of human rights, security dynamics and cyber challenges, enabling them to perform their duties more effectively in a rapidly evolving policing environment.
