Riyadh,, Dec 22 (SPA/APP): The Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority (IARDA) is implementing several projects focused on conserving nature and promoting ecotourism, in line with IARDA’s strategic plan.
IARDA CEO Dr. Talal bin Abdullah AlHarigi inspected the reserve and the ongoing work. The tour included a project to install guidance and awareness signboards for visitors, outlining the requirements for visitors within the reserve. It also included an invasive plant control project and the progress made by field teams. AlHarigi underscored the importance of strengthening local trees and plants and combating invasive species to protect vegetation cover and environmental balance.
He also inspected the veterinary clinic equipped by the authority to treat medical and surgical cases involving wildlife.
He reviewed the afforestation project east of Rawdat Khuraim, which has achieved notable success in the growth of trees and shrubs and their adaptation to the reserve’s environment. He also reviewed the field-monitoring camera project and the environmental operations room at IARDA’s headquarters.
The operations room supports fieldwork by receiving reports, recording violations, facilitating access, following up, and then addressing them through field teams.
