EAEU adopts action plan extending to 2045

SAINT PETERSBURG, Dec 22 (BelTA/APP): The member states of the Eurasian Economic Union have approved an action plan extending to 2045 during a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg, BelTA has learned.

At the summit, the participants signed an action plan, or roadmap, for implementing the Declaration on the Further Development of Economic Processes within the EAEU until 2030. This strategic document is titled “The Eurasian Economic Path” and extends its vision for the period through 2045. Aleksandr Lukashenko called it EAEU 2.0 roadmap at the Eurasian Economic Forum in Minsk this June.

Among the other documents adopted at the meeting was a tourism development concept. Following the summit, the main directions for the EAEU’s international activities in the coming year were also approved.

The session concluded with the signing of two significant international agreements: a free trade agreement between the EAEU and Indonesia, and an agreement to initiate negotiations with the Republic of Uzbekistan on the exchange of information concerning international transportation.
