ISLAMABAD, Dec 21 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have intensified a crackdown against the so-called “Dala culture”, black tinted glasses, non-standard number plates, fancy lights and flashers by setting up strict checkpoints in Tarnol and Sangjani areas.
An official told APP on Sunday that police teams established multiple pickets at key entry and exit points of the federal capital to ensure strict checking of vehicles and curb violations that pose serious security and traffic risks.
The official said that in Sangjani area, special checking was carried out under the supervision of SHO Sangjani Ishaq Khan, where vehicles involved in using black tinted glasses, non-standard number plates, fancy lights and flashers were stopped and thoroughly checked.
During the operation, several vehicles were penalised, illegal accessories were removed on the spot, while cases were also registered against violators in accordance with the law, he added.
The official said that the use of black tinted glasses, illegal lights and the so-called “Dala culture”—referring to modified pickup vehicles often misused for intimidation and criminal activities—not only violates traffic laws but also facilitates criminal elements.
SHO Sangjani Ishaq Khan said that a zero-tolerance policy is being enforced to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the area. “No one will be allowed to flout the law under any pretext,” he said, adding that such operations would continue without interruption.
He urged the citizens to ensure their vehicles comply with traffic laws and cooperate with police during checking. He said that public cooperation is vital for improving traffic discipline and preventing crime in the federal capital.
