ISLAMABAD, Dec 21 (APP): The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam has warmly welcomed the flight of President Asif Ali Zardari through Iranian airspace, describing it as a symbol of the deep-rooted friendship, mutual respect and solidarity between the two brotherly countries.
In a statement issued by Iranian embassy, the ambassador expressed sincere appreciation for the goodwill message conveyed by President Asif Ali Zardari, terming the gesture gracious and thoughtful, and a clear reflection of the enduring bonds of fraternity between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
He said Iran was honoured to facilitate the Pakistani President’s flight and viewed the exchange as another positive step towards further strengthening bilateral relations. The ambassador reaffirmed Iran’s firm commitment to enhancing cooperation with Pakistan and elevating ties to new and higher levels in diverse fields.
Emphasising shared regional goals, the Iranian envoy said both countries aspired to work together for the promotion of peace, stability, development and the well-being of the entire region.
The statement underscored the longstanding historical, cultural and religious links between Pakistan and Iran and highlighted the resolve of both sides to continue close engagement for mutual benefit and regional harmony.
