BAHAWALPUR, Dec 21 (APP): The Food Safety Team conducted an operation against a unit producing counterfeit milk in Qaimpur, destroying 600 litres of contaminated milk. During the raid, 15 kilograms of powder and a large quantity of equipment were also seized.
According to an official press release issued here, continuous operations are underway against those involved in the production of fake milk. A case has been registered against the owner for violating the Food Act.
The press release stated that the Food Safety Team found fake milk being prepared using powder and other harmful ingredients. It added that thousands of litres of adulterated milk were being produced daily and supplied to various areas.
The statement concluded that the Punjab Food Authority is continuing strict action against the sale of fake milk under its zero-tolerance policy against adulteration.
