ISLAMABAD, Dec 19 (APP):The output of the Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) recorded a growth of 8.33 per cent during the month of October 2025 as compared to the same month of last year, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported Friday.
On a month-on-month basis, the LSMI production in October 2025 increased by 3.75 per cent when compared with September 2025, according to the PBS data.

Overall, the large-scale manufacturing sector posted a growth of 5.02 per cent during the period July–October 2025-26 as compared to the corresponding period of last year.

The provisional quantum index of Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) for October 2025, with the base year 2015-16, has been developed on the basis of latest data supplied by the source agencies.

The main contributors towards overall growth of 5.02 per cent during July–October 2025-26 included food (0.66), tobacco (0.04), textile (0.28), garments (0.83), paper and board (0.10), petroleum products (0.89), cement (0.83), electrical equipment (0.17), automobiles (1.82) and other transport equipment (0.22), while negative contributions were recorded by chemicals (-0.16), pharmaceuticals (-0.43), iron and steel products (-0.15), machinery and equipment (-0.04) and furniture (-0.26).
The production during July–October 2025-26, as compared to July–October 2024-25, increased in food, beverages, tobacco, textile, wearing apparel, leather products, paper and board, coke and petroleum products, rubber products, non-metallic mineral products, fabricated metal, computer, electronics and optical products, electrical equipment, automobiles and other transport equipment, while it declined in wood products, chemical products, pharmaceuticals, iron and steel products, machinery and equipment, and furniture.
