LAHORE, Dec 19 (APP):The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) is carrying out its citywide anti-smog operations, deploying washing teams across key public areas and major roads to help reduce the harmful effects of smog.
According to LWMC sources here on Friday under the ongoing anti-smog activities, LWMC’s operations teams remained active throughout the city, carrying out phase-wise mechanical and manual washing.
A special cleanliness operation was conducted in Samanabad Town along Ferozepur Road, where staff was deployed to reduce rising air pollution. Early-morning washing activities were completed around Ichhra Bazaar and from Ichhra Metro Station to Shama Metro Station.
Sources said that LWMC workers and washer vehicles participated in clearing roadside dust and cleaning footpaths through manual and mechanical washing.
Additionally, the department continued periodic water sprinkling on important roads and public spaces to help suppress dust particles and improve air quality, sources added.
