HYDERABAD, Dec 19 (APP): Central Information Secretary of the Pakistan Peoples Party and MNA Shazia Atta Mari has said that, in accordance with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision of “health is wealth,” the Sindh government was providing maximum healthcare facilities to the people.
She expressed this while handing over the keys of an ambulance and a mobile dispensary, provided by the Sindh government, to Civil Surgeon District Headquarters Hospital Sanghar Dr. Aftab Azam Sirewal at Civil Hospital Sanghar.
Addressing the ceremony, Shazia Mari said that the objective of the mobile dispensary was to provide free and quality healthcare facilities at the doorstep of people living in remote and underdeveloped areas.
She said that improvement in the health sector was the top priority of the provincial government and all possible measures were being taken in this regard. She added that opponents had no room left to criticize the government, which was why they remained silent, as the PPP believed in public service and its doors were always open to the people of the district.
The MNA further said that through the mobile dispensary, women, children and senior citizens would receive timely medical check-ups, medicines and basic healthcare facilities, which would also help reduce the burden on the Civil Hospital.
She announced that the Sindh government would soon establish an oxygen unit at the Civil Hospital, which she would inaugurate shortly. She added that the process of appointing specialist doctors and ensuring the availability of medicines would also be initiated. Shazia Mari also visited the Chest Pain Unit, where the Civil Surgeon briefed her about the facilities available at the Hospital.
On the occasion, SSP Abid Baloch, DHO Dr. Daulat Jamali, Assistant Commissioner Sanghar Shafique Ahmed Areesar, political leaders and a large number of people were present. Later, MNA Shazia Atta Mari inaugurated a newly constructed road from Latko Mori to Chotiyari Dam.
