HYDERABAD, Dec 19 (APP): Vice Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam Engineer Professor Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal has said that the coming generation would face significant challenges including climate change, economic instability, rapid technological advancement and the preservation of cultural identity. To effectively address these challenges, he stressed the urgent need to invest in the intellectual, academic and moral development of youth from an early stage.
According to SAU spokesperson, Dr. Siyal expressed these views while addressing a grand ceremony organized by Bukhari Model High School, operating under the supervision of Sindh Agriculture University in the university residential colony, in connection with Sindhi Culture Day.
The Vice Chancellor noted that the post–artificial intelligence era will be even more demanding, faster and highly competitive. He emphasized that standing shoulder to shoulder with developed nations requires not only excellence in modern technology and education aligned with contemporary needs, but also the preservation of language, culture and centuries-old civilization.
He further remarked that nations which forget their identity ultimately disappear from history, highlighting the urgent need to preserve the Sindhi language, its rich vocabulary and traditional expressions.
Renowned story and drama writer and social reformer Dr. Mahmood Mughal, in his address, said that safeguarding and promoting Sindh’s literary and cultural heritage was a major responsibility placed on the shoulders of the youth. He emphasized that education should not be confined to the awarding of degrees alone, but must also focus on transferring national identity, social awareness and moral values, stating that when a language survives, culture survives and when culture survives, the nation survives.
Registrar of Sindh Agriculture University and Chairman of the School Management Committee Ghulam Muhiyuddin Qureshi, Principal of Bukhari Model High School Madam Sanam Koondhar and others also expressed their views.
Speakers also paid tribute to the valuable services rendered by Dr. Mahmood Mughal for the school. To mark Sindhi Culture Day, students presented vibrant tableaus, traditional and national songs, Sindhi folk dances, scientific models and an impressive display of Sindh’s traditional crafts, handicrafts and cultural attire, which received widespread appreciation from the audience.
