Balochistan CM reviews Green Bus service expansion
QUETTA, Dec 18 (APP): Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Thursday reviewed the proposed extension of the Green Bus Service to the Harley Health Services Projects area.
The session focused on planned routes, progress updates, and measures to improve public transport standards, particularly for patients and healthcare staff commuting daily to the area.
During the briefing, officials informed the Chief Minister that the expansion would provide timely, safe, and reliable access for the general public to the Harley Health Services Projects Area. The initiative is expected to significantly benefit patients, attendants, and medical professionals by easing travel to and from healthcare facilities.
Addressing the meeting, CM Bugti reaffirmed that modern, safe, and high-quality public transport is a top priority of the provincial government. He directed authorities to complete the expansion within the stipulated timeframe and stressed that service quality, cleanliness, punctuality, and passenger convenience must not be compromised.
He further instructed that route planning should maximize public benefit, with special consideration for senior citizens, women, patients, and persons with disabilities, ensuring inclusive and accessible transport for all.
The meeting was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Mir Liaquat Ali Lehri, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Zahid Saleem, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Secretary Transport Hayat Khan Kakar, Commissioner Quetta Division Shahzaib Kakar, Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, along with other senior officials.
Participants presented various suggestions to ensure effective implementation of the project and discussed broader strategies for improving urban transport services in Quetta.
