LAHORE, Dec 18 (APP): Provincial Minister for Law Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan paid an official visit to Ishaq Haroon (Waqf) Hospital, Lahore, where he inaugurated the newly constructed extension of the hospital and reviewed facilities at the existing building.
Upon arrival, the minister was received by the hospital administration and representatives of Anjuman-e-Rafahi-Aama, who briefed him on the hospital’s history, objectives, ongoing projects and future expansion plans. The administration highlighted the hospital’s role as a non-profit, donor-supported healthcare institution providing free and affordable medical services to deserving patients without discrimination.
During the visit, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan toured various departments, including Emergency, ENT, Eye, Urology, Orthopedics and general wards. He interacted with patients and their attendants, inquired about the quality of medical services, availability of medicines, diagnostic facilities and staff conduct, and expressed satisfaction over the hospital’s round-the-clock operations and its policy of not refusing treatment to patients due to financial constraints.
In his remarks at the inauguration ceremony, the minister said the newly added extension would enhance patient capacity, improve service delivery and strengthen specialized healthcare services, particularly for low-income communities. He appreciated the efforts of the hospital management, doctors, paramedical staff and donors for their continued commitment to public welfare.
The hospital administration also informed the minister about the recent induction of specialist doctors, expansion of ENT and eye care services, and partnerships with organizations, including Siza International, for medicine donations under corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan termed Ishaq Haroon (Waqf) Hospital a model welfare healthcare institution and assured full support of the provincial government for initiatives aimed at improving public health services. He emphasized that such welfare hospitals play a crucial role in complementing government efforts to ensure accessible, affordable and quality healthcare for all citizens.
