Balochistan CM approves major reforms in livestock & dairy sector

QUETTA, Dec 18 (APP):Chief Minister (CM) Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, approved a series of reform measures in li aimed at improving departmental efficiency, safeguarding public health, and strengthening transparent governance.
One of the key decisions taken was the phased relocation of dairy farms from within Quetta city to areas outside municipal limits. The Chief Minister emphasized that the move is intended to provide citizens with a healthier environment, reduce pollution and traffic congestion, and promote modern urban planning to address environmental and public health challenges.
To ensure effective implementation, a special committee comprising the Secretary Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) and the Secretary Finance was formed. The committee has been tasked with reviewing all aspects of the plan and submitting a comprehensive report within one week.
The meeting also approved departmental recruitments from Grade 1 to Grade 15 in the Livestock and Dairy Development Department. CM Bugti issued strict instructions that all appointments must be made purely on merit through a transparent process, warning that no political pressure or favoritism would be tolerated.
“No job will be sold, and no one will be allowed to deprive the youth of their rightful opportunities. Merit is the top priority of the provincial government, and there will be no compromise on this principle,” Bugti declared.
Highlighting the broader benefits of reforms in the livestock and dairy sector, the Chief Minister noted that improvements would create new employment opportunities across the province.
The initiative would significantly enhance milk and meat production and strengthen the provincial economy and improve the standard of living for citizens.
The CM Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed his government’s commitment to institutional reforms, stressing that all departments are being modernized to make service delivery more effective, citizen-friendly, and aligned with Balochistan’s path toward sustainable development and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development Sardar Faisal Khan Jamali (via video link), Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Zahid Saleem, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Department Muhammad Tayyab Lehri, Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon, Secretary S&GAD Syed Faisal Agha, along with other senior officials.
