ATTOCK, Dec 17 (APP):Attock district has begun delivering tangible relief after the Punjab government’s anti-encroachment ordinance and the devolution of powers to local bodies. The District Resolution Committee (DRC), led by Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza, has become a fast-track platform for justice. Working closely with the police, the committee has recovered more than 70 illegal occupations, including farms, commercial plots, residential houses and highway-department land worth millions of rupees, the local correspondent of APP from Attock reported this on Wednesday, citing the sources of local administration.
According to the details, the success story extends to Tehsil Attock, where Assistant Commissioner Anza Abbasi’s Tehsil Resolution Committee (TRC) retrieved ten illegally held properties across several villages. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Waqas Aslam Marth also played a key role by speeding up verification and updating revenue records, allowing decades-old disputes to be settled in days.
The seventh DRC meeting, chaired by Rao Atif Raza, drew over 100 complainants, assistant commissioners from six tehsils, revenue officers and senior police officials. The session reviewed past orders, heard directly from beneficiaries and issued fresh directives to resolve new cases based on land records. Several family land disputes were settled on the spot, including the restoration of sisters’ shares that had been seized by brothers—a move hailed as extraordinary by locals.
Citizens who had waited 10-15 years for court decisions praised the swift action of the DRC and TRC, crediting the public-friendly policies of Punjab’s Chief Minister and the dedication of the district administration. Many expressed gratitude to Rao Atif Raza, Anza Abbasi, Waqas Aslam Marth and the entire police and revenue team for reopening doors to justice.
Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza urged journalists to keep the public informed and encourage people to bring forward genuine complaints without fear. He reiterated that timely relief remains the administration’s top priority and that his office is always open to the people of Attock.
