ISLAMABAD, Dec 17 (APP):The district administration on Wednesday carried out an operation in Sector D-12 to remove encroachments from a green belt area and arrested seven accused.
According to the administration, the green belt is meant for public access and movement. Any occupation of such land affects daily use by residents and creates problems for traffic and pedestrians. The operation focused on clearing the route and ensuring that the space remains open.
Officials said the removed items were shifted from the site to prevent further obstruction. The area was cleared on the spot, and movement was restored after the operation. The administration stated that similar actions will continue in other sectors where public land is being occupied.
The district administration appealed to citizens to cooperate during such operations. Residents were asked to support efforts aimed at keeping public spaces free from encroachments. The administration also requested people to identify and report those involved in occupying public land.
Authorities said public cooperation helps ensure timely action and reduces pressure on enforcement teams. Information from residents allows officials to reach affected sites quickly and take steps as per the law.
