GUJRAT, Dec 17 (APP):A special prayer ceremony was held at the native village of martyred Constable Tariq Aziz in Mararian to mark his martyrdom anniversary, in line with the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar.
According to a police spokesperson, the ceremony was attended by DSP Kharian Circle Shahid Muhammad, SHO Kakrali SI Tahir-uz-Zaman, In-charge Welfare Branch Sajjad Ahmed, family members of the martyr, police officers and local residents.
The participants paid homage at the grave of the martyred constable, where DSP Kharian Circle laid wreaths. A contingent of police presented a salute, while special prayers were offered for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks.
District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq paid rich tribute to Constable Tariq Aziz for laying down his life in the line of duty. He said police martyrs are a source of pride, who sacrificed their today to secure a safer tomorrow, and reaffirmed that their sacrifices would never go in vain.
