LAHORE, Dec 17 (APP): The provincial cabinet has approved the expansion of the jurisdiction of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in line with the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision of ‘Safe Punjab’.
According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department on Wednesday, the cabinet-approved decision has brought Tehsil Koh-e-Suleman in Dera Ghazi Khan and Tehsil (De-excluded Area) Rajanpur within the jurisdiction of CTD Dera Ghazi Khan.
The spokesperson said that with this expansion, the jurisdiction of CTD Dera Ghazi Khan will now cover all districts of the Dera Ghazi Khan Police Region, including Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah and Rajanpur.
He added that, under the recent decision, amendments have been made to the previous notification issued on September 27, 2019. The revised notification has been issued following recommendations of the Punjab Home Department and approval by the provincial cabinet.
The move aims to further strengthen counter-terrorism efforts and enhance public safety across sensitive regions of the province, the spokesperson said.
