LAHORE, Dec 16 (APP): National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) Managing Director Engr. Altaf Hussain Malik and President NGC Sports Association, Engr. Dr. Khawaja Riffat Hassan congratulated the NGC athletes/players on their outstanding performance at the National Games.
They expressed confidence that they would continue to bring pride to the company and the country through their achievements in future national and international competitions.
According to NGC spokesman here Tuesday, the NGC players/athletes delivered an outstanding performance at 35th National Games 2025, winning a total of 39 medals including 10 gold, 13 silver and 16 bronze.
The National Games were held in Karachi from 06 to 13 December 2025, where NGC athletes competed under the WAPDA in various events.
In badminton, NGC’s Mahoor Shehzad won two gold and one silver medal, Ali Larosh secured two silver medals, while Ms. Farzana claimed one bronze medal. In team events, the pair of Ali Larosh and Awais Zahid won one gold and one silver, while Ms.Saima and Ms. Farzana earned one gold and one bronze medal. In javelin throw, Yasir Sultan won a silver medal, while Awais Sajjad secured a gold medal in bodybuilding.
In boxing, Amir Khan won a gold medal, while Jehanzaib Khan and Sana Ullah claimed bronze medals. In judo, Mahsam Nazakat, Ms. Ambreen and Sonam Barkat won silver medals, while Sabir Shah, Ms. Maryam and Yousaf Riaz secured bronze medals. In karate, the team comprising Ahtisham Hussain and Ibrahim won a gold medal. In swimming, Taimor Shahzad and Ali Sher won two bronze medals. In table tennis, Saadia Falak Sher won one silver and one bronze medal, while in weightlifting, Hanzala Dastgir Butt secured a gold medal, and Haider Ali won bronze medal. In wrestling, Mohsin Ali claimed a bronze medal.
In basketball, the WAPDA team won a gold medal, which included NGC athlete Salman Butt. In football, women’s team won a silver medal and men’s team secured a bronze medal, featuring NGC athletes Ashfaq-ud-Din, Muhammad Waqas, Muhammad Haroon, Hamad Hassan and Sohail Shabbir, while the coaches included Nadeem Abdul Rehman, Basit Ali and Burhan Ali. In Softball, WAPDA team won silver medal, with the coach Malik Farhan Rashid associated to NGC.
NGC athlete Hamra Latif was part of the gold medal-winning women’s hockey team while Tazeem-ul-Hassan was part of men’s team who won bronze medal. The netball team won a bronze medal, in which NGC’s Haris Kamal displayed an impressive performance. The rugby team won a silver medal, which includes NGC’s Bilal Haider, while in volleyball, the women’s team secured silver and the men’s team won bronze medals, featuring NGC athletes Jan Muhammad and Muhammad Umer, with coaches Muhammad Bashir and Muhammad Yaseen Siddique.
