Federal Ombudsman Opens Regional Office in Larkana

LARKANA, Dec 16 (APP):The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat has established a regional office in Larkana on Tuesday, aimed at delivering affordable, swift, and free justice to the people of northern Sindh and adjoining areas. The office reflects a commitment to bring dispute resolution closer to citizens’ homes.
The Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan is an autonomous constitutional body that addresses complaints of maladministration against federal government departments, autonomous bodies, and corporations. Its core mandate is to ensure transparency, accountability, good governance, and protection of citizens from injustice caused by delay, negligence, inefficiency, corruption, or abuse of authority.
Citizens can file grievances against numerous federal agencies, including, Passport offices Pakistan Railways, WAPDA (water and power), Gas utilities, NADRA, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Employees Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), National Bank and other federal financial institutions, National Savings Organisation / National Savings Bank, State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, Radio Pakistan, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Pakistan Post and other federal departments.
The complaint process is simple, transparent, and completely free. Citizens may visit the Larkana office in person, submit a written application, or lodge a complaint online or by mail. After investigation, the Federal Ombudsman provides prompt relief, which may include correction of records, cessation of malpractices, refund of wrongly collected money, and issuance of directives to the concerned agency.
The office’s establishment has been warmly welcomed by the public. Citizens expressed heartfelt gratitude to Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan Ijaz Ahmad Qureshi, Amir Ahmed Sheikh (PSP), Member In Charge, Provincial Coordinator, Rashid Ahmed Sheikh, Director, and Syed Mahmood Ali Shah, Secretary, for their dedicated efforts that made this office possible.
The regional office will greatly benefit Larkana and the surrounding districts by reducing travel hardships, ensuring quicker redress, and strengthening public trust in governmental institutions. The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat urges citizens to take advantage of this facility and file complaints against federal entities for resolution.
The inaugural event was also attended by Dr Abdul Waheed Indhar, Regional Office Sukkur, Commissioner RD, Manzoor Hussain Soomro and Consultant Fida Hussain Solangi.
