HYDERABAD, Dec 15 (APP): A seven-day National Anti-Polio Campaign commenced in District Shaheed Benazirabad on Monday. Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, conducted early morning visits to various areas of Taluka Qazi Ahmed and Taluka Sakrand to review arrangements for the ongoing campaign.
During the visits, DC inspected attendance of polio teams at different Basic Health Units and personally watched teams off to the field. Deputy Commissioner directed all polio teams to ensure successful implementation of the campaign under all circumstances.
He also appealed parents to cooperate with the campaign by administering polio drops to their children during the drive, emphasizing that making the National Anti-Polio Campaign a success is a shared responsibility.
According to Health Department Shaheed Benazirabad, the campaign will continue across the district from 15 to 21 December.
During this period, more than 426,000 children up to five years of age would be administered polio drops and for this purpose, a total of 1,314 teams have been constituted. Assistant Commissioner Qazi Ahmed Arslan and Assistant Commissioner Sakrand Rameez Raja were also present on the occasion.
