FAISALABAD, Dec 15 (APP):The North American Alumni Association (NAAA) has contributed an additional Rs2.1 million to its endowment scholarship fund to support deserving students of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) in continuing their education.
A UAF spokesperson said on Monday that the association’s endowment has now reached Rs19 million, from which 17 deserving students are currently benefiting.
NAAA representatives Dr Asif Maan, Dr Zubair, and Dr Muhammad Younas presented the scholarship cheque to UAF Director Research Dr Rao Zahid Abbas and Director Financial Assistance and University Advancement Dr Nazia Ehsan.
In his message, UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Zulfiqar Ali commended the association’s efforts to support economically disadvantaged segments of society in their pursuit of education and knowledge. He said such initiatives help pave the way for a brighter future and contribute to national development.
Dr Rao Zahid Abbas stated that thousands of UAF students had benefited from scholarships over the years, enabling them to advance in life by fulfilling their academic aspirations.
Dr Muhammad Younas and Dr Asif Maan said that 17 deserving students were currently benefiting from the NAAA scholarship and expressed their commitment to continuing support for deserving students in the future.
Dr Nazia Ehsan said that no student at UAF had dropped out due to financial constraints, as the university had a state-of-the-art support mechanism in place. She added that ample scholarships were being provided through the Financial Assistance and University Advancement departments.
Dr Amjad Aulak and Assistant Director Waqar Akbar Khan also attended the cheque presentation ceremony.
