LHC holds Christmas cake-cutting ceremony

LAHORE, Dec 15 (APP):A Christmas cake-cutting ceremony was held at the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to interfaith harmony, equality, and religious freedom.
LHC Chief Justice Miss Aalia Neelum, joined Bishop of Lahore Nadeem Kamran, members of the court’s minority staff, and lawyers in cutting the Christmas cake.
Addressing the participants, Chief Justice Miss Aalia Neelum said that the Lahore High Court has a longstanding tradition of respecting and celebrating the religious festivals of all faiths. She emphasized that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights to all citizens, irrespective of religion, and reaffirmed the judiciary’s commitment to upholding the principles of interfaith harmony, equality, and religious freedom as enshrined in the Constitution.
She added that celebrating Christmas at the Lahore High Court reflects the judiciary’s role in promoting tolerance, solidarity, and unity among different communities, in line with Pakistan’s founding principles.
The Chief Justice also expressed gratitude to Bishop Nadeem Kamran and the Christian community for their participation, noting that such events demonstrate the Lahore High Court’s dedication to fostering cultural and religious diversity.
The ceremony was attended by prominent members of the Christian Lawyers Association of Pakistan, including Advocates Riaz Anjum and Anok Fayyaz Sahootra. On the occasion, Bishop Nadeem Kamran thanked the Chief Justice for organizing the event and presented her with a bouquet of flowers. He also offered prayers for the country’s peace, progress, and prosperity.
