ISLAMABAD, Dec 15 (APP):Superintendent of Police (SP) City Zone Suleman Zafar met a delegation of the Christian community to discuss security arrangements and administrative measures ahead of Christmas celebrations in the federal capital.
An official told APP on Monday that the meeting focused on ensuring foolproof security at churches and religious gatherings during Christmas. The SP assured the delegation that Islamabad Police would take all necessary steps to facilitate peaceful celebrations and protect worshippers.
He said special security plans were being finalised for churches, prayer services and community events, adding that police deployment would be enhanced in sensitive areas to maintain law and order.
SP Suleman Zafar emphasised that Islamabad Police firmly believe in religious harmony and respect for all faiths, and ensuring the safety of minorities remains a top priority.
Members of the Christian community appreciated the proactive approach of Islamabad Police and shared suggestions regarding crowd management and security coordination. They also expressed confidence in the police arrangements and thanked the SP for engaging with the community ahead of the festive season.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to close coordination between the police and the Christian community to ensure peaceful and secure Christmas celebrations in the city.
