MARDAN, Dec 15 (APP):The district-wide anti-polio campaign has formally been launched here under strict security arrangements, supervised by District Police Officer (DPO) Masood Ahmed.
According to a spokesman for Mardan Police, special checkpoints have been established at all entry and exit points of the district to maintain law and order during the campaign.
Police force has been placed on red alert to effectively respond to any emergency situation, while all available resources are being utilized to ensure the safety of polio teams.
During the campaign, Divisional Superintendents of Police (SPs), Circle SDPOs, and concerned SHOs are present in the field to personally monitor security arrangements.
More than 2,300 police officers and personnel have been deployed on security duties to provide complete protection to polio workers and to ensure a peaceful environment for the public.
Meanwhile, the district administration has enforced Section 144 across Mardan. Under the restrictions, double riding, display and movement of weapons, and the use of vehicles with tinted windows have been banned. Strict legal action will be taken against violators.
Mardan Police have appealed to the public to fully comply with Section 144 and to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
