SIALKOT, Dec 12 (APP):The Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) hosted its first Academia–Industry Dinner on Thursday night,aiming to strengthen collaboration between academia and local industries.
According to a spokesperson,the event,jointly organized by ORIC and the Directorate of External Linkages,brought together industry leaders, including Syed Ehtesham Mazhar,President of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Khawaja Masood Akhtar,Chairman of forward sports.
Vice Chancellor(VC) Prof. Dr.Shazia Bashir highlighted the importance of joint research projects that were cost-effective,Eco-friendly and productivity-focused,providing practical training for students while supporting local industry.
Industry representatives welcomed the initiative and proposed measures such as joint research labs,skill-based training programs and internship-to-job pathways.
Plans for a permanent Academia–Industry Council were also discussed.
The dinner marked a key step toward building sustainable university-industry partnerships in Sialkot.
