Review meeting on the curriculum reforms held at M/o FE&PT

ISLAMABAD, Dec 12 (APP):A review meeting on the proposed curriculum reforms and upgradation, was held at Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training (M/o FE&PT), focusing key finding and recommendations from provinces.
According to the ministry on Friday, the meeting was chaired by the Secretary, M/o FE&PT Mr. Nadeem Mahbub . Other attendees included representatives from NCC, FBISE, IBCC, NRKNA, AIOU, FDE and PIE along with the experts on the subject.
Dr Tabassum Naz, Director National Curriculum Council (NCC), briefed the meeting on the wide-ranging provincial consultations, which were held in all the provincial capitals and the federating units.
She presented the key findings and recommendations from provinces that would feed into curriculum upgradation exercise.
She also spoked about the next steps, including finalization of the National Curriculum Framework, rationalization of core subjects at secondary and higher secondary levels, revision of the scheme of studies, and international curriculum conference among others.
it was decided to move ahead with the strategy as proposed during the meeting. Further, a broad range of subject specialists would be involved in the whole exercise.
The Secretary M/o FE&PT  appreciated the Director NCC and the team for work done so far, highlighting that this is a very critical task and need of the hour, which has a direct bearing on improving the quality of education in the country.
He emphasised that this endeavour would require a comprehensive and sustained effort from all the team members along with extensive input from the stakeholders.
He further said that he would personally take monthly review meetings on the subject while the team members should regularly meet for the planned activities.
