KP CM for transformation of TEVTA

PESHAWAR, Sep 07 (APP):Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Mahmood Khan Friday directed the total transformation of TEVTA functions,
realignment of professional and technical skills building trainings with the
market and industries.
He said the new ground realities of the market and
industrial sector required highly skilled manpower in order to raise the
existing placement for jobs from 25 percent to 70percent. “Compromising
improvement and progress creates a lot of problem that we have seen in the last
few decades and the people are still bearing the brunt of these illogical
compromises adding that resistance to change and improvement delays the
growth”, he added.
He was presiding over a meeting of TEVTA at Chief
Minister Secretariat Peshawar. The meeting focused on the functions, progress
of work on the functionalization of different institutes, the governance and
budget related issues and made a number of decisions.
Provincial Minister for Finance Taimoor Saleem Jhagra,
Additional Chief Secretary Shehzad Bangash, Head of SSU Sahibzada Saeed,
Secretaries of Finance, Industries, Science and Information Technology MD TEVTA
Muhammad Amin and others attended the meeting.
The TEVTA needs to have a comprehensive strategy with
focus on employment quality of its trained manpower, the tracking system and
even the replication of successful model for the rapid growth of private
sectors in the province.
Industrial transformation and new dynamics of market,
necessitated, the need drive professionalism and quality trainings to feed the
private sector. In some areas there should be quick fixes and in others there
should be comprehensive strategy. The government has already planned the
correction and replacement of required optics for job creation and rapid
growth.
Appreciating the working of the management of TEVTA Mahmood
Khan directed it to develop different domains and productive use of its
employees. He appreciated the savings made by the management of TEVTA and
bringing transparency urging it to develop linkages with the different
industries.
He stressed for effective monitoring of progress of TEVTA
institutes to ensure performance evaluation and financial review.
Chief Minister assured to provide all out support to
TEVTA and directed the finance department to arrangement funding immediately.
He also directed to resolve and fix the governance related issues of TEVTA. The
government will help them out, he assured.
Mahmood Khan said the government wanted to track TEVTA on
modern lines. We will welcome recommendations in this regard and assured that
feasible recommendations will be accommodated in the overall approach for a
streamlined TEVTA, he added.
