50 firms attract thousands of students at TEVTA job fair

RAWALPINDI, Dec 09 (APP): A large-scale Job Fair 2025 organised by the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Punjab was held at Government College of Technology, Farooq-e-Azam Road, Rawalpindi, on Tuesday, attracting thousands of students and graduates, with participation from more than 50 national and international companies.
The event brought together trainees from various TEVTA institutes across Rawalpindi district, offering on-the-spot interviews, registration, screening and hiring in multiple trades. Several candidates underwent immediate interviews, enhancing their prospects of direct employment.
Chairman J-7 Group Maqbool Hussain inaugurated the fair, while former president of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdul Rauf Chaudhry and Pakistan HVACR Society representative Athar Naseem Siddiqui attended as guests of honour.
The guests, along with Regional Director North, TEVTA Punjab, Engineer Usman Ali, District Director, TEVTA Rawalpindi, Malik Ameer Ahmed, and Principal, Government College of Technology, Engineer Mustafa Masood, visited company stalls and interacted with students and employers.
Addressing the ceremony, Maqbool Hussain said TEVTA was not only providing technical education but also linking youth with industry to create practical employment opportunities.
Regional Director North, TEVTA Punjab, Engineer Usman Ali said TEVTA students had consistently earned industry trust through their skills, adding that the strong turnout reflected growing confidence in technical education.
District Director, TEVTA Rawalpindi, Malik Ameer Ahmed said such events helped students understand changing industry requirements and provided career guidance.
Company representatives said TEVTA graduates were highly dependable in terms of trade skills, work ethic and technical understanding, and described the Pakistani youth as among the most skilled workers in the region.
At the conclusion of the event, the participating companies were presented honorary certificates by TEVTA Punjab.
