Annual Pashtun Culture Day celebrated in New York highlighting traditional values

NEW YORK, Dec 07 (APP): The Khyber Society of America Saturday organized its annual Pashtun Culture Day at which Pakistan’s Consul General in New York Aamer Ahmed Atozai underscored the event’s role in strengthening ties among overseas Pakistanis and
fostering understanding between communities.

The vibrant event brought together a diverse gathering of local parliamentarians, assembly women, community leaders, professionals, journalists, and a large number of Pashtuns from across the United States.

Participants celebrated the rich cultural heritage, traditional values, and historical legacy of the Pashtun community through music, art, and cultural expressions.

Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General commended the Khyber Society for its continued commitment to community welfare, both within the United States and in Pakistan.

He acknowledged the Society’s efforts in promoting social cohesion, extending humanitarian assistance, and preserving cultural identity among the diaspora.

Atozai noted that Pashtun culture, with its roots stretching back thousands of years, remains distinguished by its strong sense of community, hospitality, and resilience.

The Consul General reaffirmed its support for initiatives that promote Pakistan’s diverse cultural heritage and contribute to the well -being of the diaspora.
