ISLAMABAD, Dec 6 (APP): National Press Club (NPC), in collaboration with Google and Tech Valley Pakistan, organized a certified training session for journalists on digital journalism, information verification, and modern AI-powered reporting tools.

CEO Tech Valley Umar Farooq shed light on the importance of training journalists with new emerging technology. Project Manager Sameen Aziz provided participants with practical training on Google AI resources like Gemini NotebookLM, Pinpoint and Google trends, and various verification tools, said a press release on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), President Afzal Butt said that such workshops are essential for equipping journalists with the latest digital skills. NPC President Azhar Jatoi reaffirmed the club’s commitment to enhancing the professional capacity of its members. Secretary Nayyar Ali and Rawalpindi/ Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ), President Tariq Ali Work emphasized the need for journalists to adopt new technologies to improve their work and professional growth.
Senior journalist Haji Nawaz Raza highlighted the shift from traditional to digital tools in journalism, stressing the importance of continuous learning. NPC Senior Vice President Ehtisham-ul-Haq said that AI has become a necessity in the modern era and will play a vital role in the future of journalism.
At the conclusion, Parliamentary Secretary for Cultural Heritage Farah Naz Akbar, Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan Dr Irfan Neziroglu, Tech Valley CEO Umar Farooq, and PFUJ President Afzal Butt, President NPC Azhar Jatoi, and Secretary Nayyer Ali Adistributed Google certificates among the participants.
The workshop was attended by senior office-bearers of NPC and RIUJ, along with a large number of journalists, who termed the training highly beneficial and expressed the desire for more such initiatives in the future
