LODHRAN, Dec 06 (APP):Jahangir Khan Tareen attended the closing ceremony of the 5th South Punjab Mathematics Contest organized by the Tareen Education Foundation (TEF).
Addressing the ceremony, he said that mathematics forms the foundation of IT and technology, and only the youth skilled in these fields could bring about a revolution in Pakistan’s digital economy. He added that such competitions serve as an important milestone in equipping children with modern-era skills.
At the end of the ceremony, Jahangir Khan Tareen distributed cash prizes and appreciation shields among the position-holding students.
Jahangir Khan Tareen also visited the under-construction TICER, South Punjab’s first modern IT institute being built in Lodhran. During the visit, TEF CEO Akbar Khan briefed him in detail about the university’s various blocks, state-of-the-art IT labs, smart classrooms, digital library, and the overall design and completion stages of different sections.
Once completed, TICER will provide thousands of students with access to advanced IT education and open new avenues of progress for the youth of South Punjab.
On the occasion, Jahangir Khan Tareen also visited the art exhibition set up by students from TEF-supported schools. He appreciated the creative artwork and design projects displayed by the students and lauded their skills and efforts.
