WAH CANTT, Dec 6 (APP): A violent collision inside the GT Road underpass on Saturday claimed the lives of two motorcyclists, identified as Saddam and Salman, who were riding a motorcycle bearing registration RIX-5982. The victims were struck by a heavily loaded dumper truck, number P-7617, traveling at high speed. The impact was catastrophic, tearing the motorcycle apart and leaving the bodies wedged between the truck’s wheels, requiring several hours of rescue work to recover.
Emergency responders from Rescue 1122 arrived promptly, cordoned off the area, and transported the remains to Civil Hospital Taxila for post-mortem examination. Two other occupants of the dumper escaped injury, but the severity of the crash left the underpass blocked for an extended period, disrupting traffic flow.
Taxila police have opened an investigation to determine whether negligence or excessive speed contributed to the tragedy. Authorities are reviewing eyewitness accounts and vehicle data to ascertain responsibility and prevent similar accidents in the future.
