LAHORE, Dec 06 (APP):A delegation of Anjuman-e-Tajiran Container Market Daroghawala called on President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol, and assured their full cooperation while expressing solidarity.
Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mian Anjum Nisar, and Senior Vice President LCCI, Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh were also present.
The delegation was led by its President Mian Sagheer Ur Rehman. The delegation included Vice President Mahboob Subhani, Finance Secretary Abdul Majeed, General Secretary Rana Riaz, Additional Secretary Hamid Mehmood Gujar, Ali Musa, Rameez Dewan, and other office-bearers. Members of the LCCI Executive Committee, Rana Nisar, Shouban Akhtar, and Sheikh Muhammad Fayaz also attended the meeting.
The delegation apprised the LCCI President of the issues being faced by the traders of the Container Market, particularly complaints related to the Customs Department and various business difficulties. The traders stated that delays in customs clearance, additional procedural complexities, and inadequate communication cause losses to the business community.
LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol, after listening to the concerns, assured that the Chamber is fully committed to protecting the rights of the traders. He said that meetings with relevant customs officials have already paved the way for the resolution of their issues, and the process will continue persistently in the future. He added that the business community is the backbone of the national economy and addressing their concerns is a collective responsibility.
Vice President SAARC Chamber Mian Anjum Nisar remarked that Lahore Chamber has always stood with the business community and establishing better working relations with regulatory bodies is among the Chamber’s top priorities. He pledged that the issues of Container Market traders will be actively pursued and their voice will be raised at every appropriate forum.
Trader representatives appreciated the positive efforts of the Lahore Chamber and said that the business community has high expectations from the current leadership of LCCI. They expressed hope that the Chamber’s support and initiatives will significantly reduce customs-related difficulties and accelerate commercial activities.
