ISLAMABAD, Dec 05 (APP): Chairman Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Dr Ikram Ali Malik handed over exam software to Sindh’s provincial Minister for Universities & Boards, aiming to facilitate marking system to all BISEs of Sindh.
The handover took place during the 183rd meeting convened by Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC).
This meeting was hosted jointly by the IBCC and the Board of Intermediate Education (BISE) Karachi. The Chairpersons, Controllers, IT Directors, and senior officials from examination boards of all provinces of Pakistan attended the meeting, said a press release on Friday.
The Executive Director of IBCC, Ghullam Ali Mallahn has played a key role in facilitating this process to all the Sindh boards. The Forum approved Pakistan’s new unified national grading system starting with the 2026 examination and asked provinces to announce it on time to ensure smooth execution.
Members discussed redesigning SSC and HSSC group structures to expand subject combinations, unlocking multidisciplinary academic choices for students. In a landmark decision, A-Level candidates will now receive equivalence within their relevant academic groups, irrespective of their O-Level stream.
The Forum widely appreciated IBCC’s efforts in shifting assessments from rote learning to conceptual and critical thinking aligned examinations, training master trainers and item writers, and empowering IT teams for nationwide technology adoption.
Pakistan’s examination boards remain united in advancing future-ready, transparent, and digitally-enabled assessment reforms.
