PESHAWAR, Dec 05 (APP): A delegation of the Charsadda Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by founding president Sikandar Khan, called on Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House Peshawar.
Former Speaker of the Provincial Assembly Kiramatullah Khan Chugharmatti and Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society KP, Farzand Ali Wazir, were also present during the meeting.
The delegation briefed the Governor in detail on the issues faced by Charsadda’s business community, including challenges related to WAPDA, the gas department, obstacles to commercial activities, and the need for promoting local industries.
Governor Kundi emphasized that aligning technical skills with modern requirements is essential for achieving strong economic outcomes.
He said that NAVTTC is playing an active role nationwide in this regard and urged the KP business community to strengthen coordination with the institution for technical skill development.
He added that an early meeting would be arranged between the delegation and Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme.
The Governor further said that the Red Crescent KP and Charsadda Chamber could enhance the impact of welfare activities by working jointly.
During the meeting, the participants discussed facilitation of the business sector, revival and expansion of industries, infrastructure-related challenges, and improved access to financial support.
The delegation informed the Governor that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) form the backbone of economic growth but continue to face specific administrative and operational hurdles. They stressed the need for a coordinated provincial strategy to address these issues.
Governor Kundi assured the delegation of his full support in resolving the challenges faced by the business community.
