ISLAMABAD, Dec 05 (APP): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has named polling staff to oversee the upcoming by-election in PP-289, Dera Ghazi Khan-IV, where voters will elect a new representative to fill a vacant Punjab Assembly seat.
In an official notification issued on Friday, the ECP appointed Muhammad Usman Khalid, Deputy Commissioner of Dera Ghazi Khan, as District Returning Officer for the PP-289 by-election. Muhammad Shahid Nadeem Rana, Chief Executive Officer of the Waste Management Company D.G. Khan, was named Returning Officer.
The Election Commission further named two Assistant Returning Officers for the PP-289 by-poll: Taimur Usman, Assistant Commissioner D.G. Khan and Muhammad Juma Khan Leghari, Deputy District Education Officer (Male).
The by-election will be held on Jan 25, 2026.
