FAISALABAD, Dec 05 (APP): Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhera on Friday chaired a special meeting and ordered for strict enforcement of traffic laws with zero-tolerance policy.
The police officers briefed him on traffic management, accident reduction, citizen facilitation and overall compliance with road regulations.
The officers also presented a comprehensive briefing on strategies to enhance traffic flow, curb accidents and ensure public convenience through improved law enforcement mechanisms.
The RPO directed DSPs and DTOs to ensure their physical presence on roads during peak traffic hours and warned that negligence or absence during rush timings would invite departmental action.
He instructed that additional traffic staff should be deployed at congested intersections and busy markets to maintain smooth vehicular movement.
He also ordered strict measures against corruption and monthly bribery complaints, emphasizing uncompromising accountability within the force.
He stressed the need for intensifying the public awareness campaign regarding enhanced penalties under the new traffic regulations.
He urged the citizens to strictly adhere to road safety rules which are imperative for protecting precious human lives from fatal accidents.
Zero-tolerance policy would be enforced against violations particularly wrong-way driving and disregard of traffic laws as it is essential to improve overall road discipline across the region, he added.
SSP RIB Mian Muhammad Akmal, SSP Operations Furqan Bilal, CTO Faisalabad Nasir Javed Rana and other senior police officials were also present in the meeting.
