Gilani felicitates Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on appointment as CDF

ISLAMABAD, Dec 5 (APP): Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has extended heartfelt congratulations to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on becoming Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces.
In a statement on Friday, he termed the appointment a highly commendable and timely decision.
The Chairman Senate noted that Field Marshal Asim Munir’s elevation was a recognition of his professional competence, leadership qualities, and unwavering commitment to the national security. “The nation takes pride in his courage, dedication, and exemplary service,” he added.
Gilani expressed the confidence that under the leadership of the Chief of Defence Forces, coordination and synergy among the three-armed services would further strengthen, enhancing Pakistan’s defence capabilities. He remarked that under the command of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan’s armed forces continue to be counted among the finest in the world.
He further emphasized that the Armed Forces of Pakistan have consistently demonstrated their professionalism on both regional and global fronts.
The Chairman Senate also congratulated Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar Sidhu on the extension of his tenure.
He stated that under the Air Chief’s leadership, the Pakistan Air Force has delivered a strong and resolute response to Indian aggression, earning global recognition for its professionalism.
Gilani extended his best wishes to Air Chief Zaheer Babar Sidhu for his continued service and future responsibilities.
