RAWALPINDI, Dec 05 (APP): Two persons were killed in a shooting incident during a wedding in Gujar Khan on Friday, reportedly stemming from a long-standing enmity dating back to 2004, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said.
The spokesman said City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani took notice of the incident and sought a report from the Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar, ordering the immediate arrest of the suspects.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Gujar Khan and the Station House Officer (SHO), along with police personnel, rushed to the scene following the report of the incident.
Preliminary investigations indicated that an altercation during the wedding escalated into firing, resulting in the deaths of one individual from each of the feuding parties. The deceased were identified as Zarid and Rehman.
The bodies were being transferred to the hospital for post-mortem, and the spokesman said those responsible would be apprehended and presented in court.
