ISLAMABAD, Dec 04 (APP): National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, and Freedom Gate Prosperity (FGP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant milestone in their collaborative efforts toward literacy promotion, human development, environmental education, and community resilience.
The signing ceremony was held at the NCHD Headquarters on Thursday.
The MoU was signed by Ali Asghar, Director General of NCHD, and Muhammad Anwar, CEO of Freedom Gate Prosperity, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations. From NCHD, the attendees included Habibullah (Director Education), Syed Ali Akbar (Director Literacy), Siraj Ahmad (HoD IT), and Farhat Yasmeen (HoD Media). The FGP team included Urooj Raza Sayyami (Board Member), Shafqat Aziz (Head of Climate Change), and Dr. Shahbaz Tariq.
Speaking at the occasion, DG NCHD Ali Asghar reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to expanding quality learning opportunities across Pakistan.
He said. NCHD is committed to addressing this through scalable literacy models, community engagement, and innovative approaches — including environmental education that reconnects children with learning. This partnership will help us strengthen our outreach and integrate new tools and practices to improve learning outcomes.”
He added that NCHD continues to lead key national initiatives such as the Each One Teach One (EOTO) program and the Zero Out-of-School Children (OOSC) campaign, emphasizing that coordinated partnerships are essential for sustaining progress in Pakistan’s literacy landscape.
CEO of Freedom Gate Prosperity, Muhammad Anwar, welcomed the collaboration and highlighted the organization’s commitment to human development and climate resilience. He said,
“FGP works to empower vulnerable communities through education, climate resilience, and inclusive development solutions. Our partnership with NCHD will allow us to jointly design community-driven initiatives, build local capacity, and introduce environmental and climate education that prepares communities for a changing future.”
The MoU establishes a framework for joint efforts in literacy and non-formal education initiatives, community engagement for youth and women, environmental and climate change education, and research, advocacy, and digital innovation to improve access to learning. Both organizations agreed to develop joint work plans and explore innovative models for community-centered development, climate resilience, and enhanced educational access.
