QUETTA, Dec 4 (APP): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan in compliance of the directions of the Chairman NAB Lt. (R) Nazir Ahmed Butt commemorated International Anti-Corruption Day 2025 by organizing a seminar and awareness walk at the NAB Balochistan Complex.
The event brought together faculty and young students from various universities, competition winners, senior officers from NAB Balochistan and media personnel to reaffirm the province’s commitment to fostering accountability and integrity. The SMBR and Secretary Revenue also attended the ceremony.
Addressing the participants, the Director General NAB Balochistan Nauman Aslam underscored that corruption continues to hinder socio-economic progress and weaken public trust in institutions.
He reiterated the vision of Chairman NAB to focus on mega cases and avoid frivolous complaints. The Chairman NAB has inculcated vision into the organization to play its role in achieving the sustainable growth and prosperity of our beloved Pakistan.
DG NAB Balochistan further emphasized that International Anti-Corruption Day serves as a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility shared by citizens, government bodies, academia, and the media to stand united against corrupt practices.
DG NAB shared a remarkable success of transferring one million Acres of land in the favour of Forest Department, Government of Balochistan and termed it a collaborative effort of the NAB (Balochistan) and BOR Balochistan.
The value of said land is over 1.3 trillion rupees. Such land mark achievement of securing state land is unprecedented in the history of Balochistan. The Chairman NAB and CM Balochistan have appreciated the tireless efforts of NAB Balochistan and Government of Balochistan. The GoB through an Appreciation letter from the Chief Minster, extended its sincere appreciation to DG NAB Balochistan, Nauman Aslam and Case Officer Dy.
Director Malik Waheed Ahmed for their dedicated service, professional competence and effective leadership in securing millions of acres of government forest land valued at trillions of rupees. While acknowledging the efforts, Chairman NAB has extended his special note of appreciation for the SMBR, Qambar Dashti and Secretary Revenue, Varindar Lal. Both officers attended the ceremony and received their souvenirs / appreciation certificates from Director General NAB (Balochistan)
Highlighting the role of youth, he stated that universities are central to shaping honest, responsible, and visionary future leaders. “Our students will become tomorrow’s policymakers, professionals, and public officials. Their commitment to integrity today will define Pakistan’s future tomorrow,” he remarked.
The event featured a series of awareness activities, including an on-site awareness walk. Debate, essay, art and short film competitions held earlier as part of the campaign also received special recognition during the ceremony.
The DG NAB Balochistan congratulated all participants and competition winners, praising their dedication and creativity in promoting anti-corruption themes. He encouraged them to continue championing honesty within their institutions and communities. All competition winners and runner-ups were awarded with prizes and commendation certificates.
He also acknowledged the essential role of the media, commending journalists for their contribution to promoting transparency through responsible reporting and investigative work. He reaffirmed NAB’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the media and academic institutions as part of its preventative strategy.
The event concluded with a renewed call for national unity, transparency, and personal responsibility. The Head of NAB Balochistan urged all attendees to reject corrupt practices, avoid shortcuts, and uphold ethical principles in their daily lives, reiterating that a corruption-free Pakistan is achievable through integrity and collective resolve.
