Commissioner Rawalpindi inspects RWMC operations, urges enhanced monitoring

RAWALPINDI, Dec 04 (APP): Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer Aamir Khattak on Thursday visited the head office of Rawalpindi Waste Management Company to review ongoing sanitation operations and monitoring systems.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rana Sajid Safdar welcomed the commissioner and provided a detailed briefing on the company’s overall performance. In the central control room, Senior Manager MIS Ahsan Azmat Malik updated him on the technology-based monitoring system, location tracking and field operations.
Senior Manager Operations Dr Hamid Iqbal and Manager Operations Amir Naik were also present during the briefing.
The commissioner conducted a live inspection of sanitation operations across all tehsils and rural areas, directing monitoring staff to become more proactive. He instructed strict checks on field staff attendance and ordered that all sanitation vehicles be kept fully operational. He emphasised that officers should conduct regular field visits to personally monitor cleaning activities.
Engineer Khattak also directed accelerating washing of highways, roads, and major streets to control smog and ensuring thorough cleaning of containers in both urban and rural areas. He mandated daily reports on collected waste tonnage from all tehsils, stressing that sanitation standards in rural areas must match those in urban localities.
The commissioner commended the overall performance of the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company and lauded CEO Rana Sajid Safdar for efficient management, urging further improvement in operational speed and monitoring to provide the citizens with a cleaner environment.
